Weddings are always a fine mix between exciting and anxiety ridden. With every bridal party, the day usually follows somewhat of the same pattern. We start in the morning and a group of girls gather in a hotel room to start getting ready for the big event. I go from one to the next; applying makeup in layers so it will last the course of the day and transform these ladies from fresh faced beauties into glamourous goddesses ready to walk down the aisle!
There’s always a point in the day, where anxiety definitely sets in. Whether it’s being behind on time, wardrobe malfunctions, or just jitters as the time to leave for the ceremony approaches. It is often a roller coaster of emotions throughout the day, and it’s always fun for me to see it unfold, even though I almost know EXACTLY what to expect. Once we are in the final moments; before the bride takes her last swig of champagne and I touch up her lipstick to ensure she looks flawless walking out the door, one thing is ALWAYS the same… there is such happiness in the air!
It was NO different with the Damata girls last weekend. I am blessed to know this family on more of a personal level, which I don’t always experience with all of my clients. However, as always, I loved watching the same patterns happen before my very eyes and to know that I was an important part of this family’s special day! Between the unique dynamic amongst the sisters to the heartwarming praises of the mothers while they watched each other get glammed, the day was filled with happiness, fun and a lot of love. I would never trade what I do for anything else in the world. A special thanks to the beautiful bride herself, for seeing the potential in me and having me there to be the one to make her up on one of the most important days of her life!
